Visual Identity
Happy Hour Architecture
October 26, 2022–January 25, 2023
Wineries, breweries, and distilleries engage the senses through storytelling and placemaking. Happy Hour Architecture highlighted award-winning projects in and around the nation’s capital, demonstrating how thoughtful design inspires drink enthusiasts to raise a glass in style.
Each category featured four projects, showcased through photography and complemented by story texts, captions, and credits. Gallery props—wine barrels, beer kegs, and bourbon bottles—enhanced the atmosphere and distinguished each section.
Bourbon House Aged is a typeface by Audrey Sharonov that evokes classic whiskey labels, making it the perfect choice for panel titles and subtitles.
Bold colors were used on topic and project panels to distinguish each category.
Exhibition Plan
WAAC Band members Susan Piedmont-Palladino (Keys), Douglas Palladino (Vocals and Guitar), Harry Kelly (Drums), Igor Cvetkovic (Guitar), and Jimmy Gapinski (Bass) performed at the District Architecture Center on January 19, 2023.

Objective_
Organize a "Happy Hour" themed exhibition on a limited budget.
Approach_
The visual identity was adapted from a customizable vector design. Each category was grouped and paired with a mood panel to strengthen the section. Activities included three “Meet the Designers” sessions, a winery tour with the designer and winemaker, and a closing happy hour with the WAAC Band.
